Track Notes
Another great trip from Corin Dam up the Stockyard Spur staircase and vehicle track. Jenny, our leader, was kind enough to let various sub-groups move at their own pace, with regular re-gathering points. It must have been like herding cats for her as there was quite a wide spread of walking speeds in the party.
Morning tea at the Graeme Barrow named ‘Stockyard Spur Grandstand’ with views to Mt McKeahnie. Mike reported that, whilst we were munching, the temperature at nearby Mt Ginini was 4°C (with an apparent temperature of -5ºC). Lunch at Pryors Hut after we came down from Gingera.
We had good views from the guyed pole at Gingera, then visited the real Mt Gingera (used to be named Mt Mouat) and exited via the NW ridge and vaguely (as I was making the going here) down the line of the border back to Pryors Hut.
More conversation on the predominantly down return.
A reasonable time of 7hrs 15mins for the trip.
Thanks Jen and all.
