Bullen Range from Urambi Hills

Thursday 25 April 2024: Kambah 4 Hills – L/E. Wanna get your match fitness in for the Urban Worn Boot Bash or just keen to walk a few urban peaks in the Kambah area without having to walk 30kms?
How about a 20km walk visiting Mt Taylor, Mt Arawang, Mt McQuoids and Urambi Hill, 560 ascents. Like to think it will be completed in less than 6 hours.

Summary

From Garmin Connect (recorded on MAP66i) – Distance: 22.08km | Climb: 640vm | Time: 5:06 moving +1:02 of stops = 6:08 | Grading: L/E; M(11).

Trip Report

A great little round, well put together by our leader. Having survived, I only have to add another half of the distance to make ~30km and half of the climb to make ~1000vm of the Urban Worn Boot Bash.

1 Start to Urambi Hills 4.2km, 1 hour

TG 26 713m Urambi Hills S

2 Urambi Hills to McQuoids Hill + smoko 5.8km, 1 hour 30 minutes

3 McQuoids Hill to Arawang trig 2.7km, 1 hour

Arawang trig 765m

4 Arawang trig to Mt Taylor + lunch 6.3km in 2 hours. Views from a nice bluff on the climb to Mt Taylor. At the top, three guys were having a barbie – free smells of their T-bones.

Mt Taylor 858m – lots of people there

5 Mt Taylor to Finish 2.9km, 45 minutes.

Beautiful Autumn day. Great company from all and plenty of chatter.
