Track Notes

I rode in the (new, not map-marked) Grassy Creek Fire Trail along the border on the Boboyan Divide. A beautiful day, the morning a little cooler down south than in Canberra.

Spent 45mins at WP2 of GC1DZYD A-Z Namadgi Tours, nearly giving up before I found it (you won’t find the location on the track map). Did my calculations and was elated when the checksums came up good.

Rode on to the C87 blaze and took a little walk into the Scabby Range Nature Reserve. Returned and had morning tea, waiting for the project party to arrive.

After they arrived and had morning tea, we returned a few hundred metres back along the fire trail, then wandered up into the bush for our visit.

Afterwards, I headed back east and down the map-marked Grassy Creek Fire Trail towards Westermans. Gave  a couple of ladies walking The Settlers Track a fright near Westermans, as they didn’t hear me riding up behind them. Said g’day. Returned a bit and went to WP3 of GC1DZYD A-Z Namadgi Tours (you won’t find this on the track map either, as I’ve deleted the give-away track area).

Did my stuff. Got the latitude of WP4 correct with the right checksum, but not the longitude. Bugga! I’ve popped a note to the cache owner, asking what I did wrong. Grrr – I did nothing wrong. Instructions updated, yet again.

Rode to Westermans for a quick lunch, then back to the car.

A Rosenberg monitor was crossing the Boboyan Road as I drove home, so I was able to snap it. Not as good as Matthew’s recent closeups.

So pleased to hear that the 112 Mile blaze was rescued!

I drowned my sorrows with a (light) beer at Val’s then, to calm my shattered ego further, drove in to Lanyon and logged GC4YA4Z Lanyon Lane.

Party

A solo ride. Met 7 others – Jennifer D, Matthew H, Ron J, Philip L, Brett McN, Linda R, Greg S.
