Signing on at GCJJNK Smokin’
Thursday 29 November: Ride down Smokers Trail for geocache GCJJNK Smokin’ – L/E. Do a car shuffle between Corin Rd and Orroral Valley. Then ride down Smokers Trail for geocache GCJJNK Smokin’ and a couple more near the Orroral Tracking Station car park.

Track Notes
Did the car shuffle. Riding – well, walking – up Smokers Trail from the junction with Corin Rd at 9.05am. We pushed to the old Smokers Trail car park.
Just past the elbow in the track we quickly found the advertised position of Smokin’, which gave us the location of WP2. Then continued west to the junction with the Square Rock link track (now called Smokers Loop). Really great to see the regenerating tea-tree lining the upper arm of Booroomba Creek, which the trail crosses.
From the junction the down begins. A wonderful ride! Somewhere on the descent we visited WP2 and deciphered the location of WP3. Nearing the Orroral River ford (culvert), great views opened up to Dutchies Peak and Mt McKeahnie.
A bit of pushing and lots of flat for cycling SW to the junction of Smokers Trail with the Cotter Hut Rd. Somewhere along the way we visited WP3, which gave us the location of the final GZ.
We could smell home by now. Rode all the way from here. Exhilarating riding down the 100vm drop in Cotter Hut Rd. Left at the Link Track. A wet crossing of the Orroral River, with a large extent of water before the bridge. Took us about 10mins to find the final GZ of Smokin’.
Had lunch, then walked along a vehicle track to the final GZ of GC6TTYW Frogs in Bogs.
Back at the car at the Tracking Station car park, we drove out the road and stopped to log GC7Z6WW SATAN Station.
