ACT Hills with Prominence > 100m

What?/Description

The ACT’s Percy list does not apply a prominence criterion to its high points.

Prominence is a bit tricky to understand but, if you are on top of a mountain, its prominence
is how far down you have to go before you start climbing to a nearby higher peak. The
Tasmanian Abels peakbagger list requires all its peaks to have at least 150m prominence.

If you want to bag peaks in the ACT that you can be satisfied are genuine peaks, in 2026, Greg B, a
member of the Canberra Bushwalking Club developed the list, below, of ACT peaks over
1,000m that have prominence of at least 100m (less than the Tasmanian 150m prominence
criterion because our peaks aren’t as big). The list includes 43 of the 68 high points on the
Percy list as well as Little Kelly and the Fortress/Mt Mouat which aren’t on the Percy list.
