Track Notes

A mild stroll around and on Red Hill and its ridge. Another of the Canberra Nature Park groups, Red Hill Nature Reserve is an oasis for walkers and animals surrounded by suburbs. We are so fortunate to live in Canberra! Many of the tracks Rowan used I’d not traversed before, so there was additional interest for me. As always, great views from many points. Morning tea at Davidson trig.

A mixed party. But don’t be fooled by this mild mannered (and excellent leader) – he can take you on an an urban explore, a snow shoe or a bush bash. Just the sort of leader we need.

Of course I had ulterior motives and our leader was very kind to humour my geocaching forays. Always a dilemma to cache on someone else’s walk, as it’s not good to hold up the party or, in fact, to keep leaving and joining. Logged GC51TV7 Burnt !!!!!!!!!, GC6NTE9 View Tower, GC5ENM1 Watchout Joggers, GC4WXP7 Scarred or Sacred?, GC1DJNQ Mostly Red, GC2V1C1 A Cache in Memory of Pierre, GC5ENK6 Ghost Gum Trees and GC15J1P Another Shade of Red. The last one is a multi and the final GZ is not shown on the published map or in the .gpx file.
