Track Notes
The first really warm Canberra day, with 30ºC forecast.
A very pleasant amble up the hill, with nice stops. Met Jill B (who might come with us to Namadgi in a fortnight’s time) running down and Sean S (doing a recce for one of his easy overnight trips suitable for those new to overnight camping. Do check out his walks, to be published in the CBC November walks program due out 12 November). Lots of other people out walking Mt Tennent.
We arrived at the top at 10.30am and enjoyed morning tea/brunch/lunch with fine views. A generous 40mins.
Returning along the link track between the Mt Tennent Fire Trail and the AAWT, Chris and I left the party (with the leader’s permission) and headed down to Bushfold Flats. Nice leads in the gullies and spurs, only a couple of tight, prickly places. We came out at the north end of the Flats and picked up the AAWT.
Another unhurried leg along it back up to the T-intersection. Then down. Met a few more people coming up. It was starting to get warm.
Thanks Edwina and everyone for your company, and Chris.
I have a new item of attire which I realised on first use, makes it a lot more difficult to slip behind a tree.
Party
7 walkers – Berlinda B, Gerald D, Chris F, Ada W, Bronwyn W, Edwina Y (leader), me.
