Track Notes
With crook wife able to be left for a couple of hours, I determined to do better at geocaching and CBC walking. So I headed to Long Gully Rd 30 mins prior to the walk start time.
Armed with the full blown $10.49 Geocaching app on my phone and some visuals from geocaching.com’s map of the area I went to work. GC46H6Q NT: Alawa found. GC12NEQ Alpine found. Getting closer to 6pm I did a quick sprint up along the management trail to find GC117C0 Downed But Not Out. Aptly named. Heading back towards the meet point I checked the app and GC15DZQ Where Eagles Dare was near. A multi-cache – should I dare? Found the first one and grabbed the clue, setting my GPSr Position Format to hddd°mm.mmm’ and entering the final cache as a hurried back.
Now Jenny H is the consumate lady. Having gently scoffed at my new-found list ticking, she was generous enough to not turn up for her walk so as to not cause any embarrassment (grin). The 3 of us waited, made a call, then set off.
Much to my delight my companions were mildly interested in my new sport, so we wandered down to the second cache of GC15DZQ Where Eagles Dare and picked up GCGJHZ Wanniassa Wander on the way to Wanniassa trig.
I don’t know what else Jen had planned, but I was glad when the others were happy to turn around so I could get back to my patient.
Party
