2 December 2013 Tralee Hill and Tuggeranong Railway Siding
Walk Description This walk was organised and led by Margaret R as a CBC walk: Monday evening 2 December: Tralee Hill and Tuggeranong Railway Siding - S/M. Gather by 6.30 pm at Corbett Park off Henry Melville Crescent, Gilmore for access under the highway to remnant bushland. There is limited parking around Corbett Park, so if arriving in comfortable time, disperse cars along Henry Melville, taking care not to park across from driveways. We will not be walking on paths, so lower leg covering and boots are necessary. A last gaze down at peaceful Tralee and then across to Melrose Valley currently up for tender, probably to suffer a similar future. We will be walking at a sedate pace, only a few metres on the railway line, will encounter some undergrowth and rocky underfoot, need to squeeze around logs and under fences. Bring a torch for looking into the quarry if desired. Map: Tuggeranong. Leader: Margaret R. Transport: Drive yourself. 9 of us met at the appointed place and time.
