Getting There

This walk was organised and led by Stan M as a CBC walk:

Monday 9 January - Kowen Forest - S/E. Go down Sutton Road about 1½ km from its intersection with Pialligo Rd and Yass Rd to the Kowen Rd. Go down Kowen Rd until the junction where the road to Molonglo Gorge goes off to the right. There is a car park on the left. We will walk to the Blue Tiles recreation area on the Molonglo and back via a ridge with views. Start at 6.30 pm. Map: Sutton, Bungendore Leader: Stan M. Transport: drive yourself.

16 of us met at the appointed time and place.

Track

A nice walk on a lovely evening. Up the black top for a while, then down through the Kowen Forest to Blue Tiles picnic area. Back along a roller-coaster fire trail parallel to (but a fair way up from) the Molonglo Gorge. Finish in the just-see.

Might have picked up another starter for 4 Feb 12 - hope you can make it, Shaun.

Distance: 8.8km Climb: 250m. Time: 6.30 - 9.00pm (2hrs 30mins), with 10mins of stops.
