Getting There
Walk
Our fearless leader exercised lateral (and vertical!) thinking, bringing a little step-ladder from home to get the party across the starting fence. No damage to the tightly strung fence or to our derrieres. On up the grassy hill under a blue, but bit hazy sky. Through the band of scrub and out up to the open top with a few sheep about. We passed the rabbit ear rocks (pic 1). Excellent 360° views from the top. To the S was Mt Tennent, with Booroomba Rocks and Mt Lincoln further around to towards the W (pic 2). A suitable pause for coffee, Jenny's cake carried up by Rob, home made chocolates and more cake and slices. With the breeze increasing, we headed back down. A stark tree against the blue sky caught my eye (pic 3). Again, an excellent little heart-starter and head-clearer. Distance: 3.1km Climb: 320m. Time: 1.30 - 4pm (2.5 hrs), with a 55min arvo tea. |
