Facebook

In October 2008 I started up a Facebook presence. Two reasons - to 'evangelise' the bushwalking message and to try using a little more 'free' storage. I've put some of the photos (except those identifying individuals) from walks up there, including the track. My photo albums are at:

Bushwalking 1: 2008 10 21 - 2008 11 26   http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=64007&l=60dcd&id=822944847
Bushwalking 2: 2008 12 02 - 2009 01 9-10   http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=72226&l=3ee18&id=822944847
Bushwalking 3: 2009 01 17 - 2009 03 03   http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=84238&l=f2eba&id=822944847
Bushwalking 4: 2009 03 10 - 2009 03 10   http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=96324&id=822944847&l=4db6a
The best of an average lot   http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=68105&l=446e5&id=822944847 (these photos are also available in full size for download from a public access folder on box.net at http://www.box.net/shared/kr3ufxi1he ).

You don't need a Facebook account to access these public photo albums - just click on the links above. HOWEVER, on rechecking some (not so) old walk reports, it seems that the public links to photos expire. So if you don't have a Facebook account and are not a friend of mine, you can't see the photos. That's not much chop. Someone suggested trying Flickr - I will. Ended up with Google's Picasa from walk 19 May 09 on.

Here's some empirical data on what seems to be happening with photos on Facebook:

So, the options to use one of my photos (don't forget to credit me, will you?) are:

From May 2009 I began referencing my walks on Facebook, with a link to the walk report on my blog and a linkk to the photos stored on Picasa.
